Message from Staunton Harold SC
STAUNTON BLASTER - ONE DAY EVENT - Sunday 23rd February
Given the challenging weather forecast for this Saturday and the large number of competitors expected to travel to this popular event, the Organising Committee of the Staunton Blaster has taken the decision to cancel sailing on Saturday 22nd Feb and to run the Blaster as a ONE DAY EVENT on SUNDAY 23rd FEBRUARY when the wind looks much more inviting!
The intention is to run four races (three to count) with the following timings:-
Briefing: 10:30 a.m.
First Race: 11:00 a.m.
Bacon butties will be available from 9:30 a.m. 😋
For sailors who are not members of SHSC, Notts County or Ogston Sailing Clubs, the entry fee will be £12 for single-handers and £15 for double-handers, half price for Juniors (aged 18 and under).
Look forward to seeing you on Sunday - don't forget the grand prize of 2020 SHSC membership will be awarded to the highest placed travelling boat!

The club is aware that there's a number of boats at the club which are no longer used.  Conscious that not everyone likes having to deal with selling items the club is offering a new service.
If you'd like to dispose of a boat it can be donated to the club, it may be taken in as a club boat, sold on, or depending on the condition it may be stripped and sold for spares with the proceeds going to the club.
Another option is that the club will advertise the boat for you, and deal with any potential buyers.  In return for this service the club will receive a commission on the sale.

The decision has been made this morning to reduce the Woolley Jumper to a one day event. 
Sailing will only take place on Saturday the 8th February, with timings remaining as 

• Briefing 10.45am

• First Race not before 11.30am

The intention will be to try and complete 4 races if possible.
Bacon sandwiches will be available in the morning, and lunch can be ordered on the day.

This decision will undoubtedly come as a disappointment to some, but it has been taken following careful consideration of the weather forecast, and also taking into account people who may have been travelling further and planning on booking accommodation on the Saturday evening.
